    Description

    Porsche 928 Rebuilt Cylinder Head 16 Valve
    Each cylinder head core is disassembled and inspected for broken bolts, stripped thread holes and broken mounting holes, etc.  All heads go through a three-step cleaning process which includes:  Passing through a high temperature oven.  Being put into a shot blasting machine.  Placement in a non-caustic hot tank.  All heads are inspected for cracks, pressure tested, magnafluxed or dye tested depending on head material.  All cam bores are checked in typed heads and honed if needed.  Note:  No major welding work is ever done!  The machining process includes;  Checking valve guides using a dial bore gauge.  Alll guides and seats are cut, not ground, using three angle cuts, All valves are inspected for stem and valve face damage and wear, as well as straightness.  All valves are hand ground and fitted and/or replaced as needed.  All head surfaces are machined (milled), not ground!  Final cleaning and assembly includes;  Cleaning all heads in a solvent base tank in which all oil galleries, thread holes, etc. are cleaned.  A number of different brushes are used to catch any remaining contaminants.  All lheads are run through a detergent based hot tank before assembly.  Assembly takes place with OEM quality stem seals, all valves are hand-fitted, all springs are tested for proper tension and shimmed if necessary.

    IMPORTANT CORE RETURN POLICY - PLEASE READ

    A Core deposit is required on rebuilt parts to encourage you to return your original old part so that it can be rebuilt. Core deposits on some parts are very high because they are irreplaceable - if these cores are not returned, there may no longer be any available for rebuild in the future. Cores returned for credit must be accompanied by a copy of your invoice, and it must be exactly the same part as the one you received, complete and assembled, empty of fluids and reasonably clean. All cores must be free of any physical or accident damage, modifications or any other damage outside of normal wear-and-tear that may deem the core non-rebuilable. Any unacceptable core returned to Vertex will not be credited, nor will any shipping costs both inbound and outbound.
